The countdown to P.C.I.

Well this week we got confirmation that we have PCI on the the 8th of october, and handover shortly after.

Things are on the move now, tiles have been finally laid, mirors installed and showers have begun to be installed.

Im actually starting to feel sorry for our s/s as the tradies make such a mess and damage what the previous tradesmen have completed, no wounder it slows things down. We went for a drive and noticed so many things getting damanged and now iv started to note things down to remember for the PCI. Its such a shame it just delays everything.

This week the plumbers are coming to do fit off, and organized with the plumbing contrator to move our outside water tap and meter as they are in the middle of our front pathway.

well only 3 weeks to PCI hopefully it works in our favor...........ill keep you posted......

A quick update.........

Things seem to be dragging out a little. The tiling has finally begun after waiting for the last two weeks for the tiler to start. He was not impressed with the levels of the ground floor so until it was rectifed he did not want to lay the tiles, so i commend him for his workmanship.

Our s/s has been fixing things that needed to be replaced that we were not satisfied with and has been busy doing other things that cannot be done inside as the flooring has slowed things down.

We meet up with our s/s last friday week and said he was looking at handover to be around the 6th of october, but i am now starting to doubt it. It is quite a shame as everything was going well until the tiling! But i guess a job well done is worth the wait.

 Another week  of progress, all seems to be going good went for a drive today to check out what has been done. Lucky the tiler was there and let us enter the house with him.

The front iron work has been installed on the balcony, the staining of the the front windows has commmenced, all the shelving in pantry,linen press,store room,and walk-ins have been installed, and for some reason they have installed a ugly looking self in the galley, so will have to get that sorted out.The tiles have been delivered. so hopefully they will be laid this week.

As we were outside noticed alot of water on footpath and then noticed that someone had taken our water meter! god knows what someone would do with a water meter?

lets hope all goes well in the next coming weeks and hopefully be complete on the sceduled date.

We have lights..........

It was only like yesterday we went for our electrical selection and now they have come to life.

This week all the fittings  of the electricals and argus  have been done.And all the jobs that need to be rectified completed. they have also started work on the outside of the house.

Our s/s has been fantastic keeping us informed when the electrcians and argus will be on site.

What a great feeling to see it all come to together, you forget all about that horrible feelings that you get that you have not done the electrical selection  properly. I guess when we move in we will find out what we have forgotten to do.

Its been a real busy week trying to getting things sorted out for the house (booking in fencing,driveway,blinds) and picking up lay-bys that seem to be everywhere we found a sale!. I must say nearly everything we have bought for the house has been on sale or was a bargin to good to resist.

Went for a drive to check out house yesterday and was lucky to be able to be allowed inside as there were tradies there, so got to get a few pics.

The painting is nealry complete...............

This week was a exciting week on the house front, when i went up on tuesday the painters started the painting and what a huge difference it has made to the whole look of the house.

After months of contilpalting if we had choosen the right colour it was a relief that it came up looking good. The painters have seem to have done a great job but i guess once its all complete will have to check it all out. I remember reading trst1a's  blog and have taken down notes on what to check for ie. painting on top of doors etc. (its a real credit to this man and he's blog with all the information i have learnt and how  important it is me now).

Well all the fixing is now complete so we will handover the invoice payment.

 We have been told by our s/s that all the fitting off will start to take place and tiles will be getting started...........now thats what i am really looking forward to to see what we choose in that rush of the appiontment with national tiles that was one of the worst experinces that i recall to date.

This week i have picked up light fittings so when the electrican is there he might be able to install the light fitting above the staircase as its so high and as they have put the wiring in the centre of the stairs god knows how they will get up there! also started looking for a intercom so hopefully they can also fit it of for us.(at a cost)

We have been told that handover should be on the 5th of october so theres heaps to do now between now and then, like start packing the house, it seems time has gone so fast thinking we have heaps of time.

Also been busy getting quotes for the driveway,fencing,window coverings, but found a great site on goggle Seeking Service.com .au as these tradesmen really want the work and actually call you to when you free to meet and they show up! have had some really good quotes and you wish you could give everyone of them the job.

Our s/s has been fantastic with all the comunication with us on the progress the house and he even seemed exicited which was really nice.........a really nice guy.

And to finish off for this week i have to say our b/c has been calling every friday afternoon with a update of our build, i actually start laughing cause i cant believe the turn around from a couple of months ago! (not hearing from anyone at porter davis) but hey give credit to where its due...........

a little progress is better than none at all.............

This moring i meet with our s/s and we went over a few issues that needed to be attended to.

A couple of our french doors have been forced open and damaged so now they will need replacing, and we had to double check to fridge opening, it seems to be a ongoing issue too, but s/s said he will fix it to our fridge size.

Seems as though the fixing is complete and they have started painting which will put my mind at ease as waiting to see what the colour will look like. (chaulkdust).

We as yet have not paid our fixing invoice as we are still awaiting for cabinets to arrive, ( i think someone in office has over looked this issue and it has been a isssue since the tender meeting)!  Our s/s is still chasing these cabinets up, as it states in our HIA contract that any invoice that is issued, the work  has to be complete  and no monies are exchanged until it is, which we followed up with the Pd office and they agreed with us.

Our s/s said now things should happen pretty fast and is expecting handover in late september. Lets wait and see............

This week i have started to get quotes on driveway, blinds, splasback for kitchen, and fencing now is where all the expence come in i guess. we will be the landscaping to save on costs. And we do enjoy doing it even with all that goes with it!

There is no point putting up any pics cause there is nothing major  that has happened. But will keep you posted when something does look a little different.
